For this sweet spread, you only need three ingredients and a powerful blender. Recipe by Kristina Jansson, Geschichten aus dem Küchenschrank

Ingredients:

  • 250 g hazelnuts
  • 100 g chocolate, dark
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° and roast the hazelnuts in it for about 10 minutes. Roast until they smell good and the skin cracks. Keep an eye on the nuts so that they do not burn.
  2. Remove the hazelnuts from the oven, wrap them in a cloth and rub them with it. This will remove the skin. Blend the hazelnuts in a food processor or blender until you have a fine nut puree. This may take 5 minutes or longer. Important: Use a powerful blender so that the mixture is creamy. Do not add water or other liquid as it will make the puree clump together.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and add to the nut puree together with the salt. Blend well again.
  4. Fill the spread into sterilised jars and store in the fridge. It will become more solid, but is still easy to spread. If you like it more liquid, you can soften the spread again in a warm water bath.
