Recipes & more

Cashew, almond, macadamia and peanut butter give a wonderful boost to any dish – for breakfast, dinner and everything in between.

Nut butter, a smooth paste made from nuts, is much more than a spread or topping for pancakes and muesli. Once you start experimenting with cashew, almond, macadamia or peanut butter, you'll come to love the incredible depth they add to a dish. Nut butter is fast becoming a pantry staple – one that has dinner guests asking for the recipe.

Breakfast deluxe

The easiest way to get started with nut butters is in the morning. Try a dollop of almond butter on warm porridge, topped with seasonal fruit, for a breakfast that not only warms you up but also keeps you satiated for hours. Smoothie bowls are even faster: simply add a tablespoon of cashew or macadamia butter straight to the blender for extra creaminess along with healthy fats and proteins.

For bread lovers, a combination of raspberry jam and peanut butter is a must-try. But nut butters aren't limited to sweet pairings. Almond butter also works well with sea salt flakes and fresh herbs or sprouts.

Base for creamy sauces

Nut butters are incredibly versatile in everyday cooking. Cashew butter is an excellent base for creamy sauces. Simply combine with a little water, lemon juice, salt and garlic for a basic sauce that goes great with pasta, curries or vegetable stir fries.

Nut butters work beautifully in salad dressings, too. Cashew butter in a honey mustard dressing is a real game-changer. You can also combine macadamia butter with soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, ginger and a little coconut sugar for a sophisticated touch. Or make a delicious dressing for pasta salads with some peanut butter, a bit of coconut milk, lime and chili. These sauces go just as well with oven-roasted vegetables – perfect for the colder months. You can even use them as a marinade for tofu, tempeh, meat or fish.

Enjoy them straight up

Nut butter is a treat all by itself, spooned right out of the jar. Perfect between meals, for that afternoon pick-me-up or while cooking – when you’ve already got the jar in your hand. Peanut butter can be especially addictive. Our lightly salted peanut butter is rich and flavourful, with a hint of natural sweetness.

Baking with a nutty twist

You can also use nut butter in your baking. A few spoonfuls in pancake or waffle batter add moisture and create a round mouthfeel. When baking banana bread or cake, you can replace some of the butter or oil with nut butter and still get great flavour and texture. Adding cashew or peanut butter to the batter makes chocolate brownies extra creamy with a subtle nutty flavour.
